    Default More scare-ed-ness! :'(

    UPDATE.

Well, came home from school and Mollie was completely fine! Active, hyper and delighted to see me. BUT mum told me that Mollie had vomited while I was @ school. Mum said she fed her a piece of sausage and about an hour aferwards she vomited once.

The piece of sausage mum gave her is the only thing she has eaten since last night, not because she doesnt want food, but because mum looked it up on the net and only gave Mollie water during the day while I was @ school after the vomiting occured.

    ANYWAY.

Mollie was jumping around, entirely normal, and pawing at her leash and nudging it at me. SO I took her for a small, slow walk just 1/4 way down my street and then turned around. About 10m's from my gate, Mollie like... HEAVED and all these noices came from her belly and she spewed on the grass! She then took another step and the sounds and heaving happened again as she spewed a 2nd time.

OMG OMG OMG! I am so worried. I want to ring the vet for guidance, but my mum keeps telling me the vet is closed and Mollie's spewing is either because her tummy is still a lil upset from the toad or from the sausage she ate.

SHE STILL IS ACTING COMPLETELY NORMAL & I am only offering her water ATM.

What should I be doing????? DO I FEED HER OR LEAVE HER WITH JUST WATER?? Is their ANYTHING I should be doing????

I am going to try and ring the vet tomorrow before I go to school :'(

BTW, sorry for my freaking out posts, but I am really worried bout my girl :''(

I would be just offering water, not syringing for a while
I feel you can offer some maybe boiled rice..chicken something bland after that.
My tummy would rumble too if I had only a piece of sausage in 24 hrs.

I have no knowledge on toads though.

I so hope Mollie is okay Demi. BTW, you didn't use any flea treaments prior to this such as Advantage or Frontline or something similar?
Just that I have seen cats and dogs go through what you originally posted if they happen to get any in their mouths and are a bit off the next day.
Anyway, hope everything is fine with Mollie soon.

Oh dear, yes I think you should phone the vet in the morning, but fwiw if Mollie's tum was still upset then something like a bit of sausage would not help, way too fatty and rich.

I think I'd be fasting her tonight, give her system time to settle. If she seems to be back to normal then offer a little cooked chicken and see if she copes with it, if not, off to the vet. If she keeps it down, you can add a little boiled rice to it.

Just allow her access to water tonight.

I hope it's just an upset tummy!

    Hi Demi,

Don't let Mollie drink TOO MUCH water. Could keep causing her to vomit. So say put about a quarter of a cup (MAX!) in her water bowl or a small bowl. Let her drinks small amounts every hour but I repeat - not too much.

Can you describe the noises? I know that sounds stupid question, but important if you could. Also, if Mollie is lying on her back, can you have a damned good look at her belly/abdomen. Can you see movement inside?

Oh just realised - what did she actually bring up when she vomitted?

What she brang up? Umm, it actually looked kinda thick.
About 2 times dry-retched, bout 1/2 hour ago
Yes, I have been given her a bit of water every hour or so.
She is acting totally normal however, I would of thought she'd be acting different. So, as I said, acting as her usual self, she easily rolled onto her back thinking I was going to give her a huge scratch on the belly.
Apart from the normal beating of her heart movements, I cant see ANY movements in her tummy - maybe I'll have another look, but no, I did not see any whatsoever.
    Thanks guys. I am worried

Umm, it was just like, she was really trying to bring it up, it happened pretty quickly. Straight after she vomited the 2nd time, she was normal and no noise came from her though.

Demi, to be totally honest I'd be getting her checked by a vet tomorrow, for tonight no food, limit her water intake and keep her as quiet as possible. And watch her like a hawk. But YOU need to stay calm, if you are anxious she'll pick up on that.

While I have no experience with cane toads, after what I read above, then if there is a possiblity she did get to one, then the vet is the best person to check her out. Take in a little diary of when it first started, the times that she has vomitted, dry-retched, etc, and what her poo has been like since last night. The more info you can give to the vet the better they are able to make a diagnosis.
