A 4 pm news update. "Calls to have this breed banned." I suppose it will be on the news services again tonight.

Just saw it on Ten news, they are pushing for a ban but are not certain.
A representative from the RSPCA was saying that they are a fighting breed, specifically bred to attack other animals, they are not necessarily human aggressive.
So basically it sound like the RSPCA it all for it, but doesn't want to come out and say it incase they lose popularity

The woman is in a serious but stable condition after undergoing extensive surgery on her right arm.

Neighbors have stated that they were shocked that the pitt attacked as it is usually so friendly.

So did the 4 pm news update call it a SBTx or Pitt Bull x?

On the news I saw they specifically said Pitt Bull. No mention of SBT's
Any Pitts or Pitt mixes they are pushing to have euthanised. As far as I can tell they are still very much on the fence about it though.

At the end of the day it could be 2% Pitbull and it's going to be called a pitbull.
BSL's are garbage. What are the calls for banning breeds based on? If causing injury to humans is the reason there are many things that are far more threatening, tobacco, alcohol, motor vehicles, ladders, fishing, contact sports, etc if injury to humans is the factor then it could get ridiculous (which is how I view BSL's).
Some people who crusade against dog breeds must have too much time on their hands or a sheltered existence if Pitbulls are the biggest threat they see in our communties.

RSPCA's official stance is Blame the Deed.

Until owners of other breeds back the responsible owners of the pits any breed is next.

Thanks Angela, they made it sounds very sketchy as to the RSPCA's stand on the news.

Another update, Pitt Bulls will NOT be banned.
More to come when the next news update airs

I know this is not going to go down well, especially with several members here but I am for BSL *hides*
You don't want to hear what I think about Pitts, it would make you angry, but lets just say I'm not a fan

whoa!! You're all for BSL ?? What about the next lot of breeds due to be added to the list?
And whilst I respect your right to not like Pits,I still wonder if your dislike is based on only 1 or 2 and wonder if you've actually met one.

Oh and Pits are already banned.
