My lot are the same as others, doesn't matter if it's 5 minutes or 5 hours! I still get the excitement from all of them, but I think if I went away for 5 days, it would be ME that would be suffering from over-the-top excitement when I got back!

Geez, not a pretty sight if I started doing a bum-wriggle.....

Yes of course dogs remember, it does depend on each individual dog though just how much they miss us or how they choose to show it etc....

Regardless if i've gone for 5mins or all day, Floyd still gets excited when we return home, we get big cuddles, smooches & he then runs loonie in every room as if to show us that the house is in tact etc, what a good boy for not chewing or destroying anything etc, he's such a loving boy & i wouldn't want him any other way... :

I some times fall asleep on the couch after work watching TV, Decca will always come wake me up at 9.30pm on the dot. Because thats the time that I feed him every night, he seems to be pretty good with his concept of time when it comes to food

Same here Josh..i too have an "alarm clock" dog, who likes to wake me up around 7am every morning for he's brekki & loo run.

& around 3pm Floyd takes himself to the front door ready for car drive to pick up my daughter from school

sounds more like his tummy talking instead of knowing the time

My two are very excited whenever I return home and yes I do think they are more excitable if I have been away a few days.....Ollie definately knows he has been left....whenever we go for our walk upon my return in the off lead park the little blighter bolts....)
