I reckon you would get away with calling him Staffy x Kelpie and leave it at that breed wise.

And if anyone tells you something the least bit scary sounding - ask them how they know that? If they start with "they say", ask them who are "they", etc. Just keep asking more questions. And don't believe what you read in newspapers.

Every single newspaper story I've read about something that I was at, describes something completely different to what I remember.

You CAN NOT decipher what breeds your dog id made up of purely by the colour of its nose. I have personally seen a bitch and dog mated that BOTH had black noses that produced puppies with red noses.

So many breeds out there with red noses etc and it is normally determined by their coat colour as far as Im aware.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks guys.
possible, (part of what my dog is) his head looks similar and the side on pic you put up before his body looks a bit that way.

Most certainly a red nose does not make a Pit .
I think its your sister that needs to do the researching as she has sprouted absolute rubbish to you.

A little off topic but is the Pit bull a prohibited breed in all of Australia, thought i'd ask purely out of curiosity as some say yes & some say no you can have them.I've always thought they were illegal to own/breed???

They're legal in the ACT - go figure! I'm not sure about anywhere else though??

They are not illegal to own but they are illegal to breed.

Just saw an update on the woman who was attacked in Victoria, they are pushing for a complete ban and are talking about euthanising any and all pitts or mixes. A representative from the RSPCA didn't flat out say they should be banned but hinted at it.

Given that the RSPCA's stance is blame the deed not the breed and it is only Hugely Wirthless who has the minimal brain capacity to acknowledge that, it's a PITA.

Can't wait for them to move on to other dogs.... Then we're all going to be stuffed. I wonder if all of these people realise that if they successfully do it to the pitty their breed could well be next??

The color of a dogs nose has about as much to do with it being a Pitbull as the length of its tongue.
The Pitbull was bred as a perfomance dog. Fanciers of the breed payed no attention to color of coat, nose, etc which is why the breed has no strict standard appearance wise. This was done by the American Staffordshire faciers who bred the Pitbull based on color and conformation and eventually a separate breed.

Pit Bulls are banned in every state except for the ACT and the Northern Territory.Currently Tasmania also but they are making moves to ban them down there too now.
