Don't know who's breeding Old Style in Qld. Will have a looksee. I know a few around the Childers area who are darned good breeders, and one in brissy but none of them actually have puppies at the moment.

Will PM you details, you can look into each breeder at your leasuire, contact them, discuss and see who you feel most comfortable meeting/dealing with. Know of Old Style breeders in both Vic and NSW, but as I said, not Qld.

You keep saying you want a healthy dog? What exactly do you mean by that?
GSDs come in a myriad of different colours. I assume you are wanting the most common black and tan/black and gold?

Lots of puppies around OZ ATM.

    Hi and welcome

My mother had a short haired GSD girl while we were in our teenage years. She was a great dog, slightly dopey but a great protector.

    Good luck in your search

    Hi and Welcome.

I am not a GSD person but having just placed out a litter of another breed so I will be the party pooper and throw out just a few of the questions I asked my prospective puppy buyers.

Do you honestly have time for a young child and a dog?
Do you totally understand that dogs and children need close supervision?
Do you understand that puppies have sharp teeth and may grab waving moving arms and limbs.
Can you keep an eye on a child and toilet train a young dog.
Can you provide the necessary training a young dog requires.
Do you have help, supportive family that type of thing.
Do you have the money for vet bills etc. The first few months are a doozie.
Can you provide the necessary exercise and brain stimulation that your breed will require for the rest of it's life.
Are you prepared to seek help to rectify problems, maybe even pay someone before they become a habit.
Since you have a family, is this the right breed for the whole family.
Who will help out if you get sick
Can you afford boarding if you go on holiday.
    Do you have fences.
    Where will the dog sleep.
Where will you put the puppy while it is toilet training?

This is just a few of the questions I grilled my new puppy owners with. If the breeder has not asked you at LEAST these then go elsewhere.

Then you need to draw up a list of questions you have for them.

    The first one will be:-
Can I contact you anytime anywhere the minute I have a problem?

Please understand that I say the above with good intentions and wish you all the best in your search for a GSD dog/puppy.
