No offence there Amy but youre also not the most discerning buyer if you're seeking your dog off an a web advertisement instead of going through your breed club

Last time my mum had a litter of Danes she did have a few people on the waiting list but one of them had to cancel under understandable circumstances.

Mum still had that puppy until he was 5 months old, she just couldn't find a suitable home for him.

Eventually she advertised in the local newspaper, she had SO many calls from basically idiots who just wanted a big dog... she had to weed through all those before finding a lovely couple who owned a hobby farm.
That puppy lived the life of luxury, he slept indoors in their bedroom at night and had a hole farm to run on during the day.

Your average dog owner has probably never heard of DogzOnline and does look in the newspaper for a puppy.

    Ease up Occy!

She's a first time ever puppy owner, and just did things how she thought that it was supposed to happen. Majority of people don't know about breed clubs, heck I found out by accident!

Sadly not everyone knows all that most of us do. Most don't know the difference between a registered breeder and one who isn't. Most don't know why they need to go to someone ethical. Comments like these alienate those people far more than teaching people the difference.

Ease up my foot - I stand by what I said. People who buy a dog from a paper or GT ad are as bad as those who buy from pet shops. Most ppl here who have bought from pet shops would never make that MISTAKE again, regardless of how much they love their dogs.

DOL is NOT the place for discerning buyers - breed clubs are. Simple!

I always check local ads for dogs - thats how I got Leila - I got her so some bogan moron wouldn't...

Occy, Roly was bought for me when I wa 11 by my parents. Me and my family had absolutely NO clue about BYB's and puppy mills until I started nursing. No idea what so ever.
If you don't know, then how can you change?
But I agree, you'd have to be a flaming imbecile to be educated and still buy from ads/internet/pet shops.

I HEAR YOU!!!! You should wade theough some of the goofy applicants I get for the big tough SHAR PEI lol, and these are from either our website or Pet Rescue! I wouldn't in a pink fit advertise in the papers lol......."no sir you won't get a discount if the dog is entire as you have called rescue, entire is simply not an option"........"but I want to breed from my new dog, so just take off the cost of desexing and I will take her off your hands"
