Sounds like she'll breeze thru it all. And probably only her second season.

Ok I could be making this up but you might want to check.

I think there might be a tiny increase in DVT risk for humans who fly after being operated on ie it's recommended not to do that.

I don't know if it applies to other creatures - especially ones with relatively more plane space for their size than what humans usually get, ie the dog won't be as squashed and cramped as a human would be.

But there is something to do with the pressure changes that poses a small risk to post op patients. I wish I could remember why. I think then you'd want to wait until most of the bruising had gone eg 10 days. But also not sure if this is long enough or if the risk is big enough to warrant a delay or if you could just feed some asprin (blood thinners) and go for it.

Someone sounds eager to have their new girl!! tHis isnt something i know much about, but if it were me, I would wait until her stitches have been taken out, just to reduce the risk of infection.

Now we have to wait longer for piccys!! sigh.

    That was my plan, Boxer.
Have her de-sexed and at the same time vet can give her her dosing for quarantine to come here. Stitches out within 10 days, then straight onto the plane, so she arrives within the stipulated 14 days from dosage.

I think the breeder has her hands full there ATM, though, hence her suggestion to pop her on the plane earlier. Will see what happens...

Okay, just discussed it all with breeder. Logan is being de-sexed next Wednesday. And will be flying down here the folowing Tuesday. Should anything go amiss, reaction to GA, suspicion of infection etc, then we can simply change her flight to a later date.

All sorted between us. The times that suited me best suited her best too, so it's working out nicely.

Sounds like a great plan, Logan should be healing nicely by the time she gets on the plane.

But DA, you DO realise that means that WE now have to wait TWO WHOLE WEEKS before we get to see your first photos?!!!!!!

hey Grey's, how do you think I feel!!! I can't wait to meet her, but her season went a little longer than expected. Like MAC said, yes, this is only her second season.

It has however given me the chance to really get ahead with some of the reno's though. I did practically nothing around the place in the time Inca was here, so if I work hard now it means that when Logan arrives, my attention is on her solely, and not the ruddy old stupid house.
