AF...never have i EVER seen someone so committed to their breed. Im not saying thats a bad thing though. its actually really awesome that someones so into their breed. How did you get into SBTs? Did you grow up with them or something? You MUST have looked at something different before you settled on the SBT.

Growing up my family only ever had 1 dog, it was my mum's dog ( an annoying swf ), i was an older teen & wasn't really interested in pets then as i wasn't ready to commit to a pet or had the time to fully take care of a pet.

My OH had bought our 1st SBT home nearly 14 yrs ago, Zeppelin was found tide up to a fence on my OH's construction site as an abandoned unwanted 1 yr old puppy. As soon as my OH phoned & told me about the abandoned puppy on site i insisted that he bring him home to us to take care of until owner could be found. A construction site is no place for a dog to be. My OH had bought Zep home as a temporary measure until he's owners were found. OH & tradie's had scampered the area looking for he's owners & placed flyers/ posters up around local shops etc, owners eventually found a week later & they couldn't take care of him 100% as they worked long hours, so they offered him to any tradie on my OH's work site.

I fell for Zep as soon as i laid eyes on him in my OH's work truck & we both bonded instantly. I shared 12 glorious years with Zeppelin as my pet, he passed away in Aug 07 at age 13

My heart & head was hit hard emotionally by the SBT breed & i know i will never ever want or need another breed in my life.

I was lost with out Zep in my life & in need of another dog in my life. There was no doubt or questions as to what breed i want for my 2nd dog it would be SBT no doubt. Even my family had no need to ask what breed of dog i want, they knew that there is only 1 breed of dog that lays in my heart. I discovered Staffy Rescue in Sept 07 & kept on going to visit SR in search of a suitable rescue SBT, I adopted 7yr old Floyd from SR in Oct 07.

There's the famous saying "when on a good thing stick to it" well i've discovered the "good thing" & i'm sticking to the SBT breed.

I agreed. Always wanted a whippet and now I have 5.

There are other dogs I admire but since I know they are not for me or not something I would want to own full time or care for full time then I guess it's whippets for me.

They are my type of dog all round. Other breeds are great but there is one thing or another that always puts the whippet above them.

Particularly as I own 5. There are other dogs I wouldn't mind owning one of, but I wouldn't consider for various reasons owning several of.

When you own several dogs you often have to look more carefully at your choice.

I have to admit it, SBTs are lovely dogs. I can see why you want to stay with them.

I agree Boxerini. I find it a little strange AF, you have never ever been interested in any other breed. I mean, I am so interested in so many other breeds right now, and as a child and teenager, I changed my mind weekly.

Well that's your opinion... & i'm entitled to mine.

I have been nice & respectable of other members choice of breeds or their favourite breed etc, & i never question as to why others may like or dislike certain breeds etc & i would appreciate my choice not being judged or questioned so often.

Maybe next time someone asks me why i don't like others breeds, i should be bloody honest & say "i just dont like them full stop", no excuses or explanation needed as far as i am concerned. I am very happy with my choice of breed & i certainly don't see a need to change my choice of breed just because others don't respect or understand my choices etc..
