When I was a kid we had a silver sable. He was beautiful, but mind numbingly, painfully stupid... My mum bought him in the hype of GSD's in the 1980s, and she was well ripped off. We also had a black girl we got from the pound to keep him company who was everything a GSD should be. Poor girl spent most of her time trying to control the male!! She was a gorgeous girl...

He looked exactly like this, with less cream in the face. I was actually a bit stunned when I saw this photo - the resemblance is pretty amazing! They have this listed as a cream sable so I guess either cream or silver could be right as a label.

Does anyone know if there are apricot GSDs floating around out there?? My friend met some guys at the beach and they supposedly had a kind of apricot/cream coloured GSD.

Thanks for the link on colours Occy. I'm not really a fan of GSDs but I do love the really dark ones. Blanket blacks??

I too know nothing about GSDs but I like the straight backed dogs. The other ones look totally deformed to me. They can't even walk properly.

GSD your Zena is/was just stunning!!
