    And never go away.

RIP Sasha. I know a GSD called Sasha currenrly available for adoption. She's 6. Beautiful girl. One year, ten years Grey's - it doesn't matter when you love them, does it?

I only had Billie for 14 months and she was my heart dog.

Well I hadn't intended to get her! I'd gone to meet another oldie for someone else, and when I mentioned to the manager that I loved the oldies he said ooh hang on, I've got another one - and promptly dashed off to get her (seemed to be deaf to my calls of No I don't need another one!) - of course once I meet them I can't say no, and he knew it!

Ah, but the lovely Sasha had one year of Heaven on Earth with you Grey's. That is worth a lifetime.

You said it perfectly DA. This is what I wrote on FB the other day to another White owner who is facing the loss of their much loved dog & is not sure how they're going to cope ...

After Zena died, I thought I'd never love another dog again. What I finally realised is that, yes, they'll break your heart when they finally leave you, but all the pain of their leaving & knowing they'll never come back is worth every second of the unconditional love they have given to you while you were lucky enough to have been chosen to share their lives. I've now chosen to risk being open & vulnerable again and Tara has responded with an enormous amount of love & affection that she had clearly been holding in reserve until I was ready.
