Haven't read all the replies but just want to say, 2 dogs are easier than one, but get an older dog not a puppy, because they are bloody hard work.
Pure bred cavaliers are a yummy yummy breed ♥ there are plenty of breeders around, but just make sure you do your homework, because they are still in the process of phasing out heart issues and other problems known to the breed.

I'd suggest getting an ex breeder/show dog.. it may have some health issue which is why it won't be used in the breeding program any longer, but at least you know the breeder is doing the right thing and not using a dog with any signs of health issues.
Miley is 100% healthy so far, but her grandmother was diagnosed with a heart murmur at 6 years old although it was only stage 1, she was dead within 6 months. Miley had already had a litter by then, but as soon as her grandmother died so suddenly like that, the breeder didn't want to take the risk, so stopped breeding her immediately and sold her to me

I just wanted to add so I don't seem negative. That I love Cavs. My SIL and her family have a beautiful boy. He is healthy and sound age 6.

They were also one of the most popular breeds in the kennels where I worked and were very easy to look after. Wished people didn't feed them so much but...

    I'd have one, no hesitation.

It's rare to find a pure bred Cavalier in the pound too.. there's a reason for that.. they are totally like pretty little people that melt your heart.

I should add though.. you may find a pretty dirty wet Miley in the pound today though straight after a bath, she rolls in dirt.

So true! They are such pretty dogs! I hope Miss Miley didn't get sent to the pound for her dirt rolling stunt!!! I don't let Poppy outside after baths until she is all dry! She LOVES to do the bath zoomies and go CRAZY running aroound and rubbing herself on the carpet!

My 9 year old daughter loves watching the Cavalier crazies after a bath.. Miley does the same, but the other day she got out and rubbed up against the bushes

She was forgiven, so you won't find her at the local pound...this time.
