Default Perfect Dog Walking Weather

Now THAT'S what I am talking about cool weather, no snakes, no breathing issues, leisurely strolling begins. I love this time of year. My dogs haven't been walked much over Summer, so I am totally taking advantage of this cooler weather and strolling through the bush everyday with Ollie and Miley.

It's great isn't it?!

The heat is gone, yet the weather is so beauitful. Just the smell alone makes you want to get out there.

I agree Pugger, right now weather-wise I am in my element.

I'll second that.

It's coming into crazy Gordon Setter weather and our big black & tan sloth will rise from the ground and go forth and reek havoc. Or something along those lines.

Sounds funny I know Cleas. but truly she is a different dog in the cooler weather. For a single coated breed the heat really zaps her energy. I worry over her sometimes in summer because she is the ultimate sloth.

I remember last year when the first cool snap hit she tried to bring an entire tree branch in thru the back door. We laughed because of course the door is only open enough for the dogs to go in and out and she wouldn't be able to get it thru, but just when you think this dog is stupid she steps inside the house, leans out, grabs the end of the branch and neatly pulls it thru.

No more laughing; it was a liquid amber branch covered in dried up autumn leaves which she dragged throughout the house leaving a mess in her wake.

"Anyone for fetch" . Grrrr Gordon Setters.

I have a single coated breed here...so know all about that

It is like they have woken from a semi hibernation.

We have palm trees here and they drop whole branches. The fun-time here is...find the biggest one...try and drag it through the doggy door...leave it on my floor and chew to bits!
