Thank you for letting me know about it! I wouldn't have a clue about taping and I'm not even going to consider it, I'm sure they will decide which way to go on their own!!
    I wouldn't worry about taping.
If Cyrus wasn't bought as a show dog I wouldn't bother... he looks cute when one is flopped over

However, I was referred on, and today I was contacted by a breeder who is looking for a suitable home for one of her returned bitches, an older puppy/young adult.

I have discussed this dog with her at length to ascertain suitability for our needs and the dog's, and yeah, she sounds like a great fit.

She has lived with cats successfully without any dramas, has been with two children younger than ours, and allegedly has never shown an iota of aggression to either dogs or people. Seems she has been well socialised. Yay!

It occured to me that had Inca still been here, I would have seriously considered this dog anyway, so my family and I have made the decision to go ahead with this opportunity.

For any members (although I don't actually think that's gonna happen here) who think I should spend an 'allocated' specific amount of time mourning, please refrain from posting in this thread. Inca has gone and although I loved her, nothing can bring her back. This is a 'good news' thread - one my family and I could do with.
Your grief is your own! Only you know when you are ready to move on. I rehome plenty of dogs to people who want to give their love to another dog straight away, they are not trying to replace, how could you? They just want to spread their love. GO FOR IT!!!

The ears were taped at the correct age, but I don't think they were done correctly. Well, that's my opinion anyway, going from what the breeder has talked to me about.

No Angela, they don't flop at all, they are perfectly upright at all times, but just not firmly muscled enough for the show ring or for breeding on.

    Ruddy photobucket. ruddy computer tonight!

    Thank you all.

I have a couple of photos she has e-mailed to me, personal ones of her being stacked a while ago, but am having trouble getting my photobucket to work. This computer is really irritating me tonight.

Sorry Angela, missed your post. She is a GSD. She is currently in season, and will be de-sexed immediately after that. Probably ten days after that or so. basically I don't want her flying until the breeder can give me reassurance that she is tip-top from the op with no infection etc. She is currently close to the airport, so her flight here will be easy and quick when the time comes.

She is actually my favourite colour Angela, black and gold. My 2nd fav is sable. She is not a large bitch, and apparently she still behaves like she is all puppy. Lol.

I think she will keep us busy indeed.

Oh I didn't realise she was a GSD.

That's great news DA, I'm so happy for you. We all handle loss in our own way and getting another dog so soon certainly doesn't mean you loved or will miss Inca any less.

    Can't wait to see photos!
