If you want to show your male also, how can you de-sex him? Unfortunately, what is happening between the two dogs is normal behaviour IMHO.
Sorry if I sound stupid here, but does a dog have to be entire to show?

There is an alternative to desexing.
You can now get implants that go just under the dogs skin that repress any urge to mate. They will even ignore bitches in full season when they have the implant.

And... it is allowed by the ANKC.

And yep ShadowStaff you can't show a desexed dog in conformation.

For the most part yes. There are desexed classes but they are few and far between.

The problem with these though are that they are not 100% secure and can shrink the dog's ball bag...not good in the show ring

Oh yeah, I actually saw one of those in the Gazette for the first time in ages the other day.
They rarely happen down here. You can enter your dog in Agility and Obedience desexed though, infact, the clubs prefer it if you do.

That can be one of the side effects yes, but the dogs I have seen who have the implant there has been very minimal shrinkage.
One of which was a Great Dane... very obvious danglies there and no-one could tell a difference.
