Your friends were probably after GOOD Staffies.
Every single time we go to the dog park there is at least one Staffy, all horribly bred things.
Our dog park isn't in the best area of town so you have the people from surrounding suburbs getting bully breeds for all the wrong reasons.

DA has probably heard of it... it's near Ravenswood *shudders*

In saying that I do know one good Staffy breeder down here... Bustabones.

They just turn up with trolleys full don't they??

I have to say I can admire pretty much all dogs for what they are, but I can have trouble with Staffords or their crosses, or nondescript boofa dogs. I think they just get a bit "meh" - there's so many around and so many are feral and so many out of control ones about (but that's owners not dogs I know!).

    Good Staffords are lovely.

I am partial to Pits though... I like mastiffs but only at a distance. I think it's the big wet mouths and really licky dogs that put me off.

    I don't like slobbery.

Honestly, I have never looked at a dog and said 'Eh'.

In my opinion, no matter what they look like, I love them all.

I swear there are really more than the catalogue says there are

And don't get me wrong, I love all dogs, if someone gave me one of the breeds I listed I would still love it, I just have my preferences is all.

And if you want to see slobbery you should meet my parents Great Dane

(ignore the mess in the second photo, it was Christmas morning so there was stuff EVERYWHERE!)

    Gorgeous Dane!!

I grew up with a Newfie and she always had strings of drool hanging around... Like in Turner and Hooch when he asks the dog if he's eaten a sandshoe and those are the laces hanging out... But at least she didn't deliberately try and share it too much!
