    Unhappy Horrible Night

Griffen and Madeline have had another fight. This time I think it was over a dead bird in the yard but since we weren't home we can only go off what MIL said happened.

I think Griffens going to have to go to the vet tomorrow, one of his canines has broken and I want to get it checked. He looks a bit raw on his chest and under one leg. He's also got a small wound on his neck but it doesn't look bad.

Madeline is very sore. She's got some wounds on her neck and over her eye (the eyeball looks fine)

We've had them together for the last half hour but have seperated them to sleep. Griffen kept trying to lick Madeline and she just wanted him to leave her alone.

I just dont know what to do tomorrow. I'm so worried about leaving them alone together.

Bugger, you are in such a difficult situation. Do you know who the instigator generally is? Or is it a little from both sides? Perhaps a boot camp could help if you can figure out who it is who generally starts. I sure feel for you

I don't have any useful advice, I just wanted to say it's not your fault. I hope everything has settled down again now and they have more good times than bad.

Griffens the one that starts things. He's become food aggressive, we know about this though so they're always fed seperate and if they have bones we know (now) to make sure all traces of bone are gone before letting them back together. dead birds were not something we expected.
They've only ever had 3 fights, each appear to be over food.
The thing I'm worried about after this one is are they going to be ok together? or will it effect they're relationship?

I don't think it effects dog's relationships, my dog's fight, Millie snobs Jethro for about 1/2 an hour and then they are best buddies again. Is there anyway you can seperate them? For a long period of time? When my dog's fight I put them in their dog runs and ignore them for about an hour. Then I let them out together and they are fine. This works because they are having time out, they get to tend to any wounds and they have a bit of peace from one another.

I hope your dogs are alright today.

Is there any way you can keep them apart when you're not there to supervise? All ours are in runs or crates when we're not here. If I am home I have to rotate their time in the garden. Chopper and Angel are ok, they just play rough, but I won't leave Trixie on her won with anyone except Ivan. It's not worth the risk.

Sorry about your dogs. I hate dog fights. Hate them

I can see you are in Melbourne...have you considered sending Griffen to Wellington Park?

We've had them seperated all night. I let them together this morning but Griffen is actilly really strange around Madeline now.

Mostely he keeps trying to lick her face and neck but I've seen him lay down licking her tummy and humping the ground.
The had about 15min together this morning before she snarled at him for licking the wounds, he stood back like what the f was that for.

I meant to say ... on an episode of Cesar when he was rehabilitating Trinity the Pitbull, she attacked one of his dogs. He separated them, checked them for injuries and then carefully reintroduced them again straight away. I can't remember the exact reason, just that he did it and stressed how important it was. FWIW.
