Thread: Dogs Put Out During Storms

Default Dogs Put Out During Storms

So I have been in hospital for the past 2.5 days (I had exploratory surgery today) and my ex has been looking after the kids and dogs.
Today there was a massive storm an flash flooding..hail stones the size of golf balls.. strong winds blowing down trees.. you name it, it was happening.

So what does Miss 12 tell me on the way home..
Daddy put the dogs outside during the storm
He said he waited for the storm to settle before putting them out there, but Miss 12 said it was still windy and raining. He said they stank of wet dog and he didn't want them stinking out the house

So, we just got back home before storm #2 struck, but if we didn't get home now, they would have been left out in a dangerous storm with no-one to let them in. A tree could have fallen on them, they may have drowned if there was a flood, or gotten sick..not to mention they would be scared out of their minds.

The tosspiece doesn't understand why I am so angry and thinks I am over reacting. Am I?

I know I have been short with everyone and on edge lately, but my blood sugar isn't low anymore and I was happy for the first time in months today..until he told me about the dogs. So seriously.. am I over reacting?

Definitely no over-reaction. How stupid and inconsiderate can a person be?!?!?!

I would be SO angry! He could have had at least the decency to call you and ask if it was ok first!

    Grrr I'm angry for you!

I knew I wasn't just over-reacting. He has a knack of making me think I am a lunatic whenever he stuffs up and I get pissed off.

I told him he stinks, so he can't come inside either. He's such a jerk.

I certainly dont agree with what he did thats for sure -- do you have anyone else you can call on next time you have to go into hospital for both the kids & dogs??? Just in case he decides he wont look after them next time. Hope your surgery went well Pugger.

It was a surprise emergency situation, so next time it will be better planned and I can get someone else to look after them.

I've posted about the surgery etc in the restricted section.

    Thanks for the hugs too

I don't think you over-reacted at all. I tell you what, if my other half locked my dogs outside during a storm, when I came home I'd be locking HIM out there!

I'm new so obviously can't get to the 'restricted section' to know what's going on, but I do hope you feel better soon

I can understand getting upset if someone was there

But what would happen if you were not home? do the dogs stay inside all day?

My dogs are out when I am not home, if there is a storm, tough - i cant race home, they have the garage to go into to get out of the weather!

    I'm guessing Puggerup has Pugs???
Not really outdoor dogs, especially when no-one is home.
I have poodles and a crested and they are never outside unsupervised due to some rather nasty neighborhood dogs.

Now if they were Wolfhounds, that would be a different story.
