I hold onto these as we travel and he is made to lay down on a blanket. I also put one arm round him so he doesn't slide when going around round-abouts and corners. Prior to the tracheostomy he was always in harness in the back with a clip that goes into the seatbelt clip.
BOH.. the harness i got for big bum is variable & can be strapped around waist only & not throat or upper chest area. I bought from a lady who makes them in Tassie & if you like i will pm you her phone number.

Yeah, please do Deb. No sure how long the boy is around for, but that would make life easier!

we've never bought harnesses as the borders are use to riding on back of utes.. so i usually just hold Sammy in the car, hes pretty good, he'll sit on me or on the floor =)
this pic was on the first vet trip couple months ago ..

i dont think mine would like the harnesses so much, how do they work?

I'm one who lets Scoob ride in the front seat without a harness, most times he just lies there looking at me, not interested int he air coming thru the window.....

when i was a volunteer for the ses i went to an accident where a kelpie/cattle type dog was unrestrained in the back seat, the dog flew forward breaking it's neck and seriously injuring the child in the passengers seat, the dog was still alive when i got there, screaming in pain and unable to move, it was pts on the scene but it took what seemed like forever for the vet to arrive....ever since then my dogs have been restrained in the car!!

Mollie isnt in the car often, but now I have a compulsion to get a harness!
Where would I get one? And does anyone have a ball-point figure of a price? Mollie has kinda eaten all my funds for now, so gunna have to start saving again!

Demi, you can pay a fair price for them, but then again I've seen some in our local pet store for under $10. For mollie it shouldn't cost you much at all.

Inca is attached in the back of the outlander via a lead. A very short lead.

Although, as she grows, I have no ruddy idea how she's gonna get into the car in the first place?
