    Default Potentially Disastrous Mistake

I've just heard from a relative that her dog had to have further surgery today following cruciate ligament surgery carried out a few months ago.

There were a few phone calls through the day and when she phoned to see how he was and when he could come home, they told her that they had actually prepared the wrong leg and had gone as far as making an incision before they realised they'd made a mistake.

They did the follow up surgery on the correct leg.

I know mistakes happen, but I am still in shock.

I would never take my dog, cat or myself to have anything removed, until I had marked the correct limb to be taken. That is horrible that happened and thank DoG they realised before it was to late!

    I agree. Surely they would?

    Yes, they are.

I am pushing for her to go to another vet. I believe she is getting very ordinary service from this vet.

So glad your dog was ok, I think another vet may be the best option
