Thread: Dog's on Heat?

We are having a childrens birthday party this weekend so I couldn't take an appointment before then because I'm scared the children might hurt her stitches or get her too excited. I don't drive so I had to wait for a Monday when my partner could drive so they booked the 8th. I was scared it would be too late but the lady at the vet said to keep an eye on her vulva swelling or her licking that area and if it does they can fit us in as an emergancy. Do you have any other tips to notice?

She is registered I know that they sold her registered.... Is that still considered limited? I just know she has no pedigree papers. Sorry I don't know much about this sort of thing.

Ok...do you have a piece of paper from dog governing body...showing her pedigree...that she is limited register...in your name?

You can't sell registered without pedigree papers. Limited register (pet register) will still show pedigree

So you believe they have registered her? Just in their name no doubt, which is why you have never received any paperwork.

Great to see she's booked in. If you notice her acting differently to how she usually behaves, just keep an eye on her vulva, that's all. If in doubt, ring your vet and just speak to them at the time. But hopefully, she'll all be fixed on the 8th, and that's one potential massive problem off your hands. Good on you.

I have a piece of papy saying she is registered but its not like the copy of the papers i have of her parents which have a heap of generations on there. Just a single piece of paper saying she is registered. Sorry I don't know much about this assumed when people said papers they just meant to pedigree because I remember asking her about papers.

The vulva swelling...bloody discharge are two definite signs. When Ruby went into season...her vulva swelled to over 3 times the normal size...very obvious in her.

There are a few different types of dog registration.

The papers you are being asked about are from the ANKC or CCCQ (Canine Control Council Queensland).

There is also Council Registration, Microchip Registration, the animals can be placed on the National Pet Register.

Some people will even print off sheets to say that your dog is registered with them.

To be honest, I doubt your pug is registered with any breed governing body. I think the breeder is breeding as many pups as possible to make themselves as much money as possible.

I agree!!! Something fishy going on..........

I think the "registration papers" are the ones to use at Council for Lifetime Rego.

I want to ask the pug people here...is $1100 for an unregistered Pug expensive?

Boss isnt registered but his parents are. If we wanted him registered we had to pay another $200 to get him registered before we picked him up..
