Default Decision Has Been Made Re Second Dog

Have given up looking at rescue situations, and after discussion with Inca's breeder, have definately decided to get another Newfoundland from her. I shall be getting a male, and of course naming him Wolfgang. Then I have my two lovely Newfoundlands, with similar exercise requirements and temps, which makes life easier.

Appears she may be breeding with her other bitch in June/July this year, so by the time the litter is born and puppies ready to go to their new homes, Inca will of an age that is debatably safe enough to be de-sexed.

As TKay mentioned, it will give me the time I require to have Inca fully trained, yet she will still be a young dog when the second arrives.

I am feeling very happy with my decision. Best to start saving $$$ now, though.

I'm sorry you have been turned off rescue pups because of crappy rescuers.

At least you get your other baby!

We have been thinking about getting other blue heeler from the same breeder we got Boss from. But it be put on the back burn due to us moving house and most likely getting a working dog..

    Have fun saving!!!

If you're pleased with Inca I doubt you could go wrong going back to the same breeder.

You know I love you DA but if you can have a dog fully trained in 6 months I'm a kelpie. Should I start herding lessons?

Seriously - a second dog sounds ace.

    Lol@Occy. You nong!

Bonnie comes into season June/ July. If mating successful, she then has to go through the gestation period, so add approx 2 months. These puppies don't go to their new homes until they are 3 months old Occy.
So by my calculations this next puppy will be ready to come home about Christmas time or just before, depending on which of those months she comes into season. That's like 9-10 months away. Where's the 6???

Love you too, but still poking tongues!
