    i hope not too pricy

since you have dealt with them before, is the minimum age for a pup to fly 8 weeks? , wondering , i know some are ten ha

    thanks alot

Qantas state that the min age for pups is 12 weeks on their web site.. They supply the carrier/crate for the pup/dog and you just return the carrier to Qantas at the arrival point..
ps.. I know pups are flown at a younger age !!

We used Jet Pets to fly our two cats from Rockhampton to Newcastle. They were going straight to boarding at a vet once they were in Newcastle. There was no problems at all, Jet Pet supplied the carriers and everything. They picked up in Rockhampton and then drove them from Williamstown Airport to the vet at Charlestown. All done with minimum of fuss and the cats arrived happier than if they were travelling in the car. The cost was just over $400 for the two, but that was back in 2004.

oh ok, no thats completely fine with me, i will check on this. I wasnt specifically planning on flying at that age, i was curious but i will take it from you.
i thought it sounded too young.... i will check on this, otherwise we can always go with another breeder.

    thanks everyone else too X

this is only the 2nd time flying a dog , its all very nerve racking for them im sure . X
wanted to pick a trusted company... dont want them to lose the dog or reat it roughly..

i read i think on their site that if theres stop overs they take dog for a short walk give it water etc ! thats sounds good X

I told them i did not want any of my pets allowed out of their cages. They all had about 16 hours all up, each way, and none of them were allowed out - I rather have them make a bit of a mess, then have someone accidentally let go of the lead or somehow have them run away.

All animals had a stack of newspaper on the bottom of the crate, it socked up any mess they made, they all arrived dry and clean - Atlas and one of the cats did do a wee, but the paper soaked it up and they were fine.

I cable tied and chained my crates to make sure no one could get the animals out!

Mum wasnt happy, she picked Atlas up (he flew home 2 weeks before me) and couldnt undo the crate to get him out! PMSL

Just to note that extra is always charged for pick up or delivery. I think the dog last week was an extra $95(for rescue - a little higher for regular jet setters) to deliver him to Lysterfield from the airport
