Default I Learned Some Things This Morning...

Firstly when it is raining double the supervision! Second when the BC from down the street comes to visit while it's raining it doubles my cleaning. Third take Batty out on lead before leaving for work and keep him indoors as much as possible to reduce the mud.

Basically the BC from down the street has come to visit this morning unbeknown to me. He clears 8 ft fences and will visit very early in the morning every once in a while. There's no regular time for it, I'll just go outdoors to two dogs instead of one! Anyway, Batty and BC were playing away in the yard getting covered in mud and drenched meanwhile I'm getting ready for work thinking Batty is just doing his usual sniff and business before coming back in.

All of a sudden I hear a large SKID followed by a THUMP followed by play whining, growling and wrestley noises. Obviously I wanted to see what was happening so I came out of the bedroom to see Batty and the BC laying in the middle of my now VERY muddy, dirty and wet dining room! So both dogs straight into the bathroom while I try to work out what to do about the dining room then I hear a very pitiful meow and look under the couch... There is the very slobbery, muddy and disgusted face of Bobby (the cat)... So I pop him in the shower cubicle so he's safe, it looks like he's been rolled on or something because he's literally covered in mud and he hates the mud!

Deciding to try to save time by bathing both dogs in my bathtub was a big mistake. I got covered in water - but both dogs are clean .

Now I have my bathroom floor and parts of the walls covered in mud, dining room about the same, I'm late for work and covered in mud and water, the cat was covered in mud...

BC has gone home and seems pretty happy with himself and Bobby and Batty are clean again yay... Now I've got to get the dining room and bathroom clean and head off to work.

    Just GRRRR....

Any one else have wet weather stories for me cause right now I need to laugh about this and can't see that it's funny!

you are better than me, i would have left the cat to clean itself, chucked the dog outside, and left the mess for after work!!

Well your morning was a lot messier than mine. I was going to put this in another thread but anyway...

We had a tree come down a few weeks back and it has opened up the ground around it. From the kitchen window I can see that Gemma (GS) is guarding something in the hole , thinking it might be a snake I put on my pink dressing gown, go via the garage and grab a shovel & go and investigate, the whippets are dancing around trying to get whatever it is but Gem won't let them, I tell Gem to back up and sit so I can get a look in when all of a sudden Tilly dips her head into the hole and whips out one of my husbands leather work gloves, she gives it the death shake, dirt, thankfully not mud, flew everywhere but I got to say I almost s*&t myself - now that would of been a mess.

Stomped off back to the house muttering bloody dogs to find my OH almost wetting himself, that soon stopped when I informed him his beloved dog had buried one of his good leather gloves & the whippets were now using it as a tug-toy.

Hopefully that will teach him to close the back garage door.

PMSL@MAC. Would have loved to see the look on your husband's face when you told him what was buried, though!

    Too good. laugh:

Must be the day for it. Inca dug her first hole this morning. Well, not really a hole, just decided that the bark in the garden would look far nicer on the concrete path. Then she came zooming through the house - covered in it. Then because I was cleaning it all up she had the hide to give me a pained look because her breakfast was late.

I reckon it's the weather. The Setter can't tolerate hot weather. The second it cools down she's got all this energy to burn off and the Whippets will be into any game she instigates. Gemma is their supreme leader.
