So essentially you begrudge everyone that won an award because it's just a "case of playing favourites"?
No, I just won't judge someone either way based on the fact that they won or are nominated. It's a friendship club and until it is independent and viable outside the realms of a website and a few cronies IMO it is worth little
I should respect you cause you got an award? That is a warped way to look at life. I'll respect you cause you deserve it - not cause someone tells me you do.
thanks for the info. So I guess the reason there are more people nominated from NSW/Vic is because more people from there knew about it.
I think webmaster might want to find the person that posted all the results on DOL and get them to update the website as they go, or be provided with an internet link at the venue so she can do that there. Would be better than learning about it second hand from other websites.
Would love to see what the nomination forms looked like so one could see what makes a "responsible pet owner" because I've still got no idea why I (or almost everybody here) didn't get nominated .
So what is MDBA aiming for that isn't covered by ANKC?
I note that "registered" doesn't necessairly mean ANKC - so who else registers breeders?
I don't have any feelings one way or another. I do know that any kind of competitive award system (and a few non competitive ones eg if they picked nominee names out of a hat) does tend to polarise people ie the "why should you win and not me". But I don't have a problem with that too as long as it doesn't get too heated.
I do know winning an award is much nicer if you have a clue why they liked you and not somebody else. It's not so much fun to find out you came first out of a pool of one or to find out you won against someone you regard as much more deserving than you and have no clue why.
OO, why'd ya win, why'd ya win ? I mean, I know you take fabo photos, but why else ?
To be totally honest with you I had some weird nerves induced blackout. My name was called I went on stage and I can't remember the next five minutes I passed my camera to my husband so he was focused on trying to take my photo. He said my work with rescues was mentioned along with some other stuff.
