Default I Think We Have a Winner!!

so, i went on Dogz online and looked up standard poodles, and called up the one breeder in qld.She also has a website,Loana Standard Poodles ( im not sure if imallowed to post this, but here goes). I was very impressed with her standard. She makes potenial buyers sign a contract saying if they ever need to get rid of their dogs, they send them back to her. she gets all of her dogs vetted and health checked, and seemed very knowledgeable when I called. I think I have chosen, but im pretty sure that I will change my mind again. If anyone knows of any breeders in qld, i would like to hear about them.
Did you know tha poodles are ranked second in intelligence? the first is the BC.

Many breeders offer contracts to have the dog returned to them at any stage in their life if you don't want it or can;t look after it anymore. It is a sign of a breeder who truly cares about the progency she is putting out there into society.

You need to check what tests are done on the sire and dam, and make sure you see their results/scores etc.

Yes, poodles are extremely intelligent, as is the BC, but so too is the Australian Kelpie!

My advice to you is to go to a few dog shows if you can. Not only would you find it exciting, you would get to see and meet firsthand both BC and SP's. I think then you would be able to make a much firmer and more confident decision.

If you are comfortable doing so, PM me your nearest large suburb/city - ie Rockhampton, Townsville, Cairns etc and I'll send you the link you need for the shows

I have known one large (standard?) poodle in my life. Stupidly named Fatty. I adored him and he adored me. In fact my very first onscreen name was Fattysstepmother, lol. I got sick of people telling me I was being nasty about an adopted son so I changed it.

The original dog obedience competiton was devised by a poodle owner to show off how intelligent her dogs are.

And it looks like Boxerini is keen enough on training to keep up. All the poodles I've met have been extremely smart and the number one thing they try to do is out wit their owners. And most are successful. Especially the toy poodles.
