    Default Dog Stealing

Im just wondering how common this is?

On the weekend, one of my mates in the city had both of their purebred huskies stolen out of their back yard.

    Why would people do this?

They are worth a lot of money and if they were intact, they can be bred from.

    Why?

Cos it's cheaper than paying for them? The thief's kids thought the dogs were cute and wanted them? The dogs were barking a lot and someone wanted to make them stop?

I ask why a lot when it comes to what people do with dogs. Many many things make no sense to me.

    google cause dog theft

Got a lot of hits and some advice on prevention.

Money. This may take the form of an outright ransom, but the usual method is to wait for a reward to be posted, then call the dog's owners and say they found him wandering around.
Might be worth a try. Ad in the biggest newspaper maybe.
