Default Crapping in the House on Rainy Days

    Anyone else have this problem?

They don't do it inside unless it's raining.. it's like they don't want to get their feet wet

they are dogs for goodness sake.. what do they want..shoes???

Yep. Or something that protects their delicate stomaches from the wet.

Some of the Whippets have to be pushed out the door if it's raining because you know they haven't been out for ages and they go under this huge tree we have were it's dryer instead of going way down the back. Suppose I don't get as wet picking up after them!

My mums Chi walks around hugging the outside walls of the house were the eaves offer protection.

So they don't actually go in the house but their habits do change because of the weather.

I was actually contemplating going out holding an umbrella for my two the other day...lol but then I had an actual brain thought...(rarity now adays) I have put an old little kids craft table out there so they run under that to do their business...But also if its just bucketing down like it has here lately I just lay down the newspaper and since they were paper trained first they go there instead of the floor.

Have you got a dry area set up for them on the grass? Might help also try the paper training. Its handy to have sometimes!!

(put the table out there since there isnt any natural protected areas from the rain in our backyard)

Just put some newspaper down the in bathroom, we do this for Ziggy if she's locked inside for whatever reason and she's pretty good at only going there.

I'm lucky Pugger, because I've always seemed to have dogs who love standing in the rain with this really dense look on their faces.

Isn't there anywhere they can go outside where there is even a little bit of shelter?

I have an area under cover outside where they poo and wee, but for some reason, on rainy days, they hold it in until I let them inside

They won't go anywhere near the grass when it's wet, I don't blame them... but yeh.. there are plenty of dry ares outside. they are just very very norty.

Um ah. That is naughty. Talk about fussy.

I'd lock them outside for periods of time. Lengthy periods until they figured - go ****, or don't come in!

I actually go outside with Blue & close the door behind me so by the time she realises it is wet outside the door is already closed & I am watching her so she has no choice but to go in the rain. She is unimpressed by this but it does work for me.
