I'd lock them outside for periods of time. Lengthy periods until they figured - go ****, or don't come in!
I do they have been outside all morning but I guarantee that if they come inside now, they will poo within 10 minutes

Hoping not to jinx myself it's been pretty good the last few weeks, most of them will go outside, but sometimes it's a wee-fest inside! The stupid thing is that the doggy door leads to an enclosed verandah where they they could do their biz, yet they don't.

I do try to shove them out the front when the rain isn't heavy, which usually results in the scenario of them all standing on the porch watching ME faff around in the rain!

Then you have the ones that if they DO go onto the grass they do that bouncy walk, as they realise each paw is getting wet...ohhh nooo, can't have that! Second scenario with me crouching down towel at the ready to wipe dainty paws as they come inside.

Frosty doesn't care about the rain unless it's like a full on bucket load (yellow/red or worse on the radar).

We used to have to carry the Aussie terrier out into the middle of the lawn if it was raining or cold and damp and put her down there, and then she'd go - after all her feet were already wet then. If we didn't she'd find a spot on the carpet somewhere when we weren't looking.

I like the idea of a shelter for the more reluctant little dogs.

Haha I've never had a dog that didn't jump at the chance of getting wet!! (always had water dogs) sometimes I wonder if they even know it's raining!! And of course they have no problem going out in the rain to do their business before tracking their wet paw prints all over the house!! Although I guess it's better than doggy doo on the carpet!!

Can you teach them to use the human bathroom?
