Clicker, Treats, Treat Pouch (if you have one, very very handy), Make sure Bella is on her collar and leash, don't let her off unless you know she'll come back the minute you call. I take a crate with me as well. I also have a tug toy - but the dogs I work with at the obedience club are much bigger and give up the toy easily. A ball is a bad idea (too many other dogs who would want it). You may not be allowed to use the clicker, check first. Do you use a bridge word as well (like Yes?), if not then I would suggest you start (you can use your voice anywhere but you can't use the clicker everywhere!).

KIS principle - Keep It Simple

Clicker, treats, lead, collar and poo bags. Use a treat pouch or your pockets

And yes - a brain is preferable but I have seen many people train without one

Boxerini, I don't know how much you know about clicker training etc. Do you know how to introduce a bridge word?

I can explain my method for you if you like, I thought I'd ask before I did though!

ETA: Don't let them force you into using a check chain if you don't want to. IMO Bella is way too small to warrant one. If they do push for a correction collar look into a martingale collar. My favorite ones are from Black Dog. They don't have a chain so fur doesn't get caught in them and they are a bit gentler. Plus they don't make a noise so the dogs don't get alerted ahead of time about the correction. I was put onto the black dog collars because one of my rescues was incredibly scared of chains.

Oh all right, I agree. I would choose to ignore me too.

I was a wee bit pissd off with you, and I apologise. It doesn't happen often - truly!
