Just have to say, when I read the title I was most intrigued.

I thought you meant doggie Shower as in getting wet.

One of the biggest rings - lots of competition - some people are sore losers...

People need to get over themselves and love their dogs for who they are. Be proud if they are a champion, be proud if they return the ball to your hand. Same thing. It's all out of love.

    Hi JTDNTB,
Congrats on the job offer! My two pieces of advice are

    - Enjoy your time in the ring!

    - Someone gets nasty or are a sore loser ignore and walk away. Do not get involved and do not let them pull you down. In everything you do in life there are good people and bad. Enjoy the good.

One question I would be asking is whether you have to go to every show she enters or whether you are able to duck out of some. For example there is a show this Tuesday, public holiday, if she was entered but you had a party to go to or a work do or something, do you still have to show? What happens if you are sick or your OH is sick are you able to ring up and say you can't come to this particular show?

Again Congrats, it is a very big honour!

Have a go and see if you like it.

This could go anywhere. Yes showing takes you away from your family. But what if your family enjoyed going as well to any of the local shows.

What this lady could probably teach you would be priceless.

Professional handling is huge in the States and UK and is just starting here.

Agree with Occy the Working Dog Ring is the worst of the lot, I found the Gun Dog Ring to be very nice and the Hound Ring to be somewhere in between.

If they don't like you it's only because your winning.

Think on it and maybe be up front and say you could only do one or two weekends a month.

Be prepared when your starting out to carry the equipment, help set-up the cages that type of thing.
