Is anyone familiar with the processes for stray dogs in the Brisbane City Council? Is a stray scanned, then if no owners are found, put up for adoption? Or just pts?

Edit: Didn't see your reply, Greys. I have no idea =/

I think it's just the knowledge that they could have wonderful, loving owners out there looking for them that makes people surrender them. I know without a doubt that if she definitely (emphasis on the definitely) didn't have any owners and my dog got along with her, I'd keep her in a heartbeat.

There's a user on here, Zen, she had a very similar experience that had a very happy ending. Perhaps if you PM her she may be able to offer some advice?

Best thing is to simply phone the council or ranger and tell them you are interested in adopting her and how you can go about that if no owners come forward. Ask them for her impound number so it's easier to make further enquiries.

    Excellent suggestion Greys.

I would be making my wishes VERY clear to the Brsibane City Council actually. If they are aware that there is a possible home out there for this dog, they might think twice before putting her to sleep, should that situation arise.

I wouldn't be able to keep her. My dog saw her through the front door while I was bringing him inside (to put her outside whilst waiting for the council). They both got quite aggressive about it. I'm not sure I'd like to deal with that without a door in the way =/

Oh sorry - I misunderstood. My mistake.

I hope they find her owners then.
