Default Do You Judge People by Their Breed?

    well - do you?

I find that I often take people with small dogs less seriously because most of the ones I know irl are the type of people who baby their dogs and turn them into feral little monsters - especially people with swfs

I don't mean to, but I guess we all have our own prejudices.

Yes, I do. I try not to after joining this forum. I usually lump toy breed owners into the 'replacing human kids' category, bull owners into 'badass refuses to see the dangers of their dogs.'

I try really hard not to anymore.

I see a bloke with a pit bull and I think bogan - and I am sure this is not always true

I think same thing with staffies. Not many pitbulls around here. I am trying to stop judging a book by it's cover...Or dogs cover so to speak.

At first glance, yes, I subconsciously judge them by the size of their dog. I, too, take people with small dogs less seriously at first. But when we actually start talking it usually changes as they're nothing like what my subconscious reaction makes them out to be

There's an elderly man in my town (I believe he actually has Alzheimer's now) Who walked his chihuahua every day..That opened my eyes about breed stereotypes.

I never really have. Maybe I have just not bothered to steriotype. I just see an owner with their dog(s) and tend to judge on the behaviour of the dog(s) not their breeds.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.
