Jade is a flat coat retrevier. I am a stay at home mum who only works a few nights a week. So i can give jade the attention and stimulation she need's whilst playing with Kai.

Have you considered a nova scotian duck tolling retriever?

You need to be careful who you go to - there are a few BYB and people who know nothing about the breed breeding them for profit around but they are a nice enough dog. Very much like a caramel border collie in looks

Not quite as hyperactive as BCs - a bit smaller and stockier too

Or maybe a black cocker spaniel? They look a lot like the flat coat but are a little smaller. They do need proper training. They're not my favourite dog because of some bad child hood (mostly) experiences but one might be good for your situation. They do like the company of other dogs (as best I can tell).
