Thread: My New Addition - Welsh Pembroke Corgi

  1. #1

Default My New Addition - Welsh Pembroke Corgi

Here she is.....my new 4yo Welsh Pembroke.

    Just a few observations:

    • She had her needles last night, and today is very drowsy/lame, vomiting foamy stuff and had some diahorrea EDIT: She's eating now....turns out that I think she had car sickness. She vomited heaps of foamy stuff, but is now into her kibble and is a bit more lively.
    • She hasnt had to walk on a lead before and is very wary of it
    • She needs to lose some kg's!
    • She doesnt respond to her name or instructions - I dont think she's ever been disciplined

So I have some work to do!

corgi's are ace dogs but do remember that she is a working dog and will need exercise that stimulates mind and body!

Ha ha! Bling. Her collar came with a silver bone that you can get engraved, but I found a little diamante encrusted bone charm at the pet store the other day and couldnt resist apparently!

Her name is Charlie. But I am not sure it really suits her and am considering changing it.

Hmm... Charlie. You don't know if a name really suits the dog until you've had her for a few days.
I didn't think Dora really suited Dora (I was regretting teaching her it) until a few days after I got her... now I cant think her of anything other than Dora!

I think Charlie suits her. Or I would suggest Meryl. I love Meryl Streep and your pup look like the Meryl Streep of dogs...Sexy but refined. Sexy for other dogs I mean..

Get to know her a bit before deciding on a name, Charlie just might be the right fit for her. She's lovely by the way. I heard a good quote recently which doesn't apply to you as Charlie has just arrived. If your dog is fat you need more exercise. Best wishes to you both.

How long has she had her name Charlie? Did the breeder/previous owner name her this? Or is she a rescue and the ppl at the shelter named her that for a temporary time?

Also hon, it's not idscipline she needs, it's training.
