Australia has for the most part a piss poor attitude toward everything, its called the apathetic aussie syndrome, cant be arsed untill things get out of hand, then a bandaid is placed over the wound.

edit, as for cute puppies, all puppies are cute lol. but no one needs or should be swayed to like a breed because they are cute as pups.
Well said Beau, BSL is a crock of you-know-what, punishing the dogs, not the idiot owners that don't do the right thing. They supposedly base it on dog attacks - in which case why aren't maltese on the list? When you hear about the stats that come out about which breeds are the worst offenders, maltese are nearly always mentioned (I have nothing against them personally), yet if you said they should be listed under BSL people would laugh their heads off - the are little dogs, they are cute, how ridiculous.

Yet the PB I mentioned in a previous post potentially could be seized and pts just because of his breed, not because of his behaviour. His owners are terrified this will happen. They could be forced to spend thousands of dollars on building a run that will contain him in their yard that meets the requirements of a Dangerous Dog because BSL will DEEM him to be one, not because he IS one. This dog sleeps IN his owners bed, snoozes on the sofa, and is spoilt rotten. They have done obedience training with him, and never had a problem with him and other animals.

BSL means that some dogs will never be given a chance, and that is just so wrong.

I'm with pugger - I could never own one (I want to own a dog that I can let off the lead to play with other dogs).

But I think they are truly stunning dogs. I looooove their big solid head. Just beautiful

Ohhh yes the big bricky head. I love that too.
This is 'Dozer' (RIP) a stud from America. Now I know a lot of you hate the cropped ears, but if you ignore that, look how stunning he was!

Oh there are so many reasons.

I gave her a chance because she was urgently in need of a home, and after seeing a pic I couldnt bare to think of her being put down.

I have never had a dog so loyal. She craves attention, everywhere I go she is with me, she is fab with the boys, plays with them and knows the difference between the kids & Adam, she'll play a bit rougher with Adam. She listens, I say "Jaz bed" and she just goes. I feel safe with her when out and about and constantly get comments on how pretty she is, shes almost a lap dog (tries to be) but shes also energetic enough to go and goof around with the kids.

Honestly every day she wow's me with how awesome she is, I live along mostly because the OH is a interstate truckie and is only home one day a week, I don't live in the best of areas but for some reason I'm not afraid to hang the washing on the line of a night anymore.

Argh I could sit here for a loooong time and gloat about Jaz, she is just one special pooch.
