I thought you were a train driver Peter?

And my guess is staffies are a lot like pitties, people remember the one bad experience, forget the twenty good. The one I can't get over is our next door neighbour's ate our cat. He died, they got another one. This one ripped off a little girls face...

Oh no he was PTS, but they kept his siter. (They had two.) The little girl is okay. I remember mum telling me her father was a paramedic, but he had to call 000 because he couldn't cope

There are alot of different dogs that will kill cats, trust me i speaking from personal experience.
Years ago my parents were baby sitting my 3 year old Rottie who chased down 14 yo "josh" our tabby cat, a cat who i had grown up with, and killed it.
    It was a horrendous event.
However i believe dog/cat issues will always exist regardless of breeds.

Oh I know that, it's just that I was five when I saw my very first pet killed. Because I was so young, it traumatized me badly. I know lots of breeds...In fact all can do this, it's merely because that image is stuck in my head for the rest of my life..Every time I hear a sweet staffy story or I get a special staffy cuddle, I feel wonderful..Until I remember the vicious look in Meatloaf's (that was his name) eyes. It's a fear I'm trying really hard to get over.

    Mini Foxie then?

    Like this one?

In a non-standardised breed lots of non-standard things like folded ears still appear. I think from how you've described Roly's temperament he sounds much more like these guys than a JRT. Give him a smoochy hug from me.

I'm afraid if Frosty killed a cat that came into our back yard - I wouldn't feel particularily sorry. Cats should stay in their own back yards and if they're inclined to wander - owners should keep them indoors or in cat runs. The same rule applies to dogs so why shouldn't it apply to a cat.

However it's not ok for Frosty to jump into the neighbours yard to try to get the cat. However that's one smart cat and stands its ground.

I don't think Frosty would kill a cat even if she caught one. She hasn't killed anything except crickets. And I don't think she means to kill those either - they just don't survive doggy play. I was very surprised to find a whole blue tongue lizard in my back yard this afternoon - clearly Frosty hadn't done it any damage either. We fed it one of the mice the traps caught. Frosty hasn't damaged the mice either.
