The only dogs I don't like are those fluffy ones that get carried around by a certain sort of more mature lady, and are usually fat and very spoilt (lol usually both the dog and the owner). But then this isn't the dog's fault!!

Right this moment I have some major doggie dramas going on at home that I could really use some advice with (especially from the Bully breed owners) but it has come to the point that I really dont want to post it as I am worried it will ....well...become an all out war TBH!

It is something that I am very sensitive about so have even thought about PMing the members I think could give me some great advice but even PM's have been becoming public knowledge amongst the forum atm!

IMO if people really feel the need to reply to threads that they should leave the personal **** out of it i.e. which members they dislike etc. This forum has really just become a massive bitch fest!
I complete agree with you there. This is supposed to be a place where we support one another and discuss our dogs, help each other when we have problems and celebrate achievements.

Instead we have childish bickering going on in nearly every thread, snide, selfish comments to topics that have nothing to do with what is going on and blatant rudeness. People, new members included, are being attacked for having a differing view, instead of having different views discussed in an adult fashion.

Attacks against people are becoming more and more frequent and haven't been deserved in the first place.

PM means PRIVATE Message.... Not Public Blackmailing tool.

Why should we stay when everyone is going out of their way to make this forum a dreadful place to be?

Yes Hootch was a bordeaux, they do have one of those faces only a mother could love

I like most dogs although I'm not fond of chihuahuas. My family took in a rescue Chi when I was about 14, he was a great little guy, he lived untill he was about 16 and i have lots of fond memorys of him. Unfortunatly every other chi I've met has been spoilt and have been nasty little dogs.

My first dog was a jackrussell. Never ever again, I loved him but he drove me crazy (totally my own fault, wasn't the right dog for me)

    Yep, Rotti X

Sometimes she looks x Lab, sometimes x staffy. She's more the size of a lab though (actually probably a tiny bit smaller). She has the rotti run though!

Edit - I like dobes too. Though I've never really met one. My friend reckons they're all loopy ie run around in circles all the time.

Personaly i would not own the following breeds:
    - STB
-Chihauhau, maltese, bichon friese, ****zu or any crosses of these breeds
    - Australian Bulldog
    - Shar Pei

Or any other breed whos head is wider than it is long and resembles having run flat out into a brick wall

I wouldnt own any of these breeds because of experiences ive had with them, im sure with the right owners and training all of these breeds would be great.

My reasons for not ever wanting to keep these breeds:
Staffies - Most i have met are hyperactive and jump up and scratch my arms and legs, they have all also mouthed quite hard. Most dont seem to listen to their owners and more than half have resmbled walking coffee tables due to being grossly overweight, yes they should be stocky but hardly being able to walk and having fat rolls everywhere isnt the greatest (i know thats not the dogs fault) It also doesnt help that every bogan in perth has this big fat entire staffy which will cock its leg on everyone and everything. So basically my opinion on this breed has been skewed entirely because of their owners. Id like to meet an obedient staffy that isnt fat and has a good owner one day.

SWF/ Chihauhau - Every dog i have met has been a yappy little **** who wont obey any form of training. The have not been socialised properly and bite people and other dogs they dont live with and are generally allowed to get away with everything because they are "cute" I also dont like the fact that every person who buys one of these seems to breed it (ok not everyone, but everyone ive met!) Again this isnt the breeds fault, just the owners.

Aust Bulldog - Read Staffies above - dont like them for the same reason, mainly focussing on pissing on everything and most being entire, very overweight dogs

Shar Pei - Everyone i have met has had eye problems, ear problems, bad skin, or dental problems. I spose if the owners kept any eye on their dogs this wouldnt happen but in general everyone ive met has had lot of health problems.

I particularly like working breeds and giant breeds, im also partial to breeds like American Pitbulls, Bull terriers and JRT's purely for the fact that they are often a very misunderstood breed.

A JRT to me is a working breed, say a ratter or something that catches rabbits, so really i cant blame them for being bored and naughty when cooped up in a back yard or being treated like a baby. Same as other working breeds - ie. Kelpie, Collie for digging up someones backyard because they dont have enough mental stimulation. Pit Bulls and Bull terriers i am partial too because everyone has a skewed idea of them because they are used for fighting in other countries - when socialised well and when trained they are magnificent dogs that are not aggressive. They, to me, are also working breed as they are commonly used for hunting. Giant or large breeds i like because most i have met are very loving clowns.

Generally if i dont like a dog its purely the owners fault because they have not trained their dog or have not looked after it well. Its not fair on the dog for me to think that way but when i meet some of the breeds mentioned above that have been looked after well and are obedient mabye ill change my mind.

I must admit, JRTs arn't my breed of choice, and I will never own another. Just make sure if you slag the JRT, Roly has to be your exception!

Chinese Cresteds are incredibly cute with fur. And im not a fan of SWFs!
Also, I have never been able to feel love for the Beagle.
Labs and Blue Heelers don't do it for me either.
They always* end up fat and ugly.

*Well, not always I must say Frosty, Pretty and Paw-Sha are acceptions.
Hopefully Holly is included in those exceptions too

Well i can assure of 3 good responsible SBT owners that are members here at the forum & their Stafford's that are fit, healthy, non over weight & are very bloody obedient & well freaken mannered dogs

Cleasanta, Cleasantaslittlehelper, & me/ Aussie Floyd

I'm guessing the SBT's that you have met are from bad breeding lines, byb's, petshops etc. Responsible breeders do not breed bad lines. Or the poor dogs are in the hands of freaken idiot owners who got no bloody idea about the breed & imo shouldn't be owning a SBT at all.
