I think the turner and hooch dog is pretty weird looking.

My uncle's family have always had bedlingtons so I've always thought they were ok. My aunt had a really cute standard poodle - complete with funny haircut from time to time. She has whippets now. My brother has a staffy and other cousins have had staffies and JRT - though the JRTs sometimes fail to survive their battles with the red belly blacks on their farm. And my grandfather had a series of white bull terriers who were um, mischievous, to say the least.

Its funny how what dogs you feel comfortable with and what dogs frighten you - have a lot to do with what dogs you knew as a kid. That's yet another reason it bothers me so many children are growing up with little or no doggy contact at all. Maybe I should start a dog school visit program - so they get to meet more than just the guide dog labradors. Actually I kind of have already - one of my favourite ovals is next to a school, and so I let the after school care kiddies pat my dog (after they ask politely of course). And I try to get her to do tricks for them - like shake hands and talking.
