I'm not a fan of staffys. The ones that I know are all vicious and I nearly got bitten once just by walking past, so that's put me off them completely.

Interesting...if you look at the breed standard for the Tenterfield Terrier...they have more or less the same temperament as SBT's...can be very aggressive towards other dogs...most be socialised early to minimise aggression...etc

I have only met one staffy, it's my sisters dog, and it's always been very well behaved and affectionate.

and THAT is the true Staffy nature...there will always be bad apples in the basket just like any other breed. The difference is...that SBT's were specifically bred for dog fighting/pit fighting and unfortunately are extremely good at it. The saying is...an SBT will not start a fight, but he will for sure end it!

But I thought you said if they were vicious they need to be put down? Sorry I'm pretty confused. Not trying to start a fight just want to get my facts straight.

towards HUMANS!!!! If an SBT shows ANY aggression towards humans...it must be humanly destroyed...they were bred to 100% dependable towards humans and especially kids....they are known as the "nanny dog" for a reason!

Don't flame me for not liking staffies. I have said that I have being put off a breed because of bad experience. Although there ARE bad apples, it seems that they are all I've met.

It also comes down to BAD breeding...BYB breeding etc...lack of temperament testing in BYB SBT!
