    Default New Dog Pen

Hubby is making a new, bigger dog pen, under a big tree with the long dog box in it. (abt 25 tx 15ft)
It is mainly to contain Pretty and Jodi at times for security if we are away.
I was hoping that soon River and Bandit would be with Chop. They are 10 weeks old now and ready to go. I have rung, her hubby said she would ring me back. I rang a day or so later, no answer and I have text today asking her to call or I can call her if she gives me a suitable time. I know she is going through some personal stuff, but so am I. I start chemo later this month.
Hubby is even willing to drive them to her if she can not make it half way.
We are doing worst case scenario and the pen is big enough for all 5. I will have to think of advertising them later this month if I don't hear anything. I did tell her at one stage I could keep them a while till it was better timing, but that was before my cancer diagnosis and we have talked since then. I sooo wish she would call me.

Meanwhile, I will have piece of mind with them safely contained when I am away from home for treatments etc. They are used to being out and running around, the farm house is not fenced in, never has been. It is all ok when someone is home, we can see and hear vehicles coming (not many of them and regulars know to honk and I make sure pups are ok as they arrive and leave.) They will have half the double clam shell pool in there too as well as the one out the front.

A dog pen of the size your husband is looking at building, Di, is fantastic. Peace of mind for all of you.

Jeez, not good about having trouble getting hold of Choppa though, Di. She was very keen to have River wasn't she, and quite point blank she needs to get him soon as the crucial bonding stage is well and truly happening now!

Hope you get hold of her. Have you made things clear to her husband???
If no word soon, yeah, I understand the need to readvertise and get them homed.

Pics of the pen would be great when it's done. Lol.

The pen sounds awesome di! (I hope it's ok I call you that )

Hope Chops is in contact soon, I'm sure she will be. How big are all the puppies now? I'd love to see some more pics of Pretty, she is stunning IMHO!

Stage one of the pen is done, it holds them all. We test drove it last night. Jessie is our escape artist and it held her, lol.
For the moment it will stay as it is, it is good and shady and the box is there for any rain. Later a roof cover and sides will be added one end for wind shelter etc. It will not be used a lot but so glad we have it.
hahahahha, RAIN! what is that stuff. Will post a pic soon.

Hubby is in Town buying a dog watering thing that will be hooked up to the tank.
We will be away next week but son will be here, he probably will not be using the pen at all for them. Jodi tried bathing in the deep oven pan we had in there for water for the test. The other half of the clam shell pool will be a MUST in there if we need to secure them, lol.
This pen is also viewable entirely from my kitchen window.

This is very dark, taken sunset last night from my veranda. You can just make out one of my idiot cats on the box, checking out the pen.
