Yes that's the perk of being an aunty too (and my niece lives in Tassie anyway). Hubby and I have zero plans for children. Who knows, maybe in ohhh 15 years or so we might change our minds but for now we will continue to ignore all our family and friends who keep telling us "ohh but you have to have a baby... you'll change your mind soon enough". Nope, no we won't!

Actually, I loath how once a couple get married, ppl think it is expected they must run off to bed and start having kids!

    Bed yeah, kids no.

I agree too. I have one son with kids, another who says no way. I respect both their decisions.

Lol, yeah we've been married almost 2 years now, so you know, we'd better get onto it LOL.

I went to a friend's wedding last year and was doing the polite thing and holding their 4mth old baby, making the appropriate "mmhhhhmm she's lovely" noises. And you know what my friend said to me? "That's a really good look for you" - WTF!

My parents are the same Di, they've got one grandchild from my brother and they accept they have two "fur-grandchildren" and don't pressure us at all. MIL on the other hand loves dropping hints.

Lol. Maybe parents pressure their grown-up kids to have kids for revenge???

I love my sons dearly, but if I had my time again, I would only have had one child. Seems like a harsh thing to say perhaps, but the truth nevertheless.
I don't have a ruddy maternal bone in my body, so I can understand perfectly when some adults decide not to have children.

I feel the same as you, despite loving both my kids to bits. Seriously, it is the most mindblowingly life-changing thing most people will ever do. There are many, many, many good reasons not to have children, and I actually admire people who make a conscious decision not to have them. Mind you, neither of my kids has ever eaten her own poo, or anything else's poo, so that one's not necessarily a given!
