Default Just Hurts Me So Badly

I feel like such a douche. Today I just cried and cried because I couldn't adopt the 'ugly' cats and dogs at my local shelter. They're a no kill shelter but I just want to help so badly. I'm thinking of seeing if over my school break I can volunteer. Do they allow under eighteens to volunteer? I had to give up my charity at the local nursing home, and with my chubapup gone I really need to fill this void inside me.

It cant hurt to ask if you can volunteer, I would doubt if they said No to you. One way to find out, go try.

My daughter volunteered at RSPCA before she was 18, so I can't see why not

Disney, I would be surprised if they said no, but you have to be ready to start with the simple cleaning out chores for a while until they suss you out. All part and parcel of the job. Lol.

I think this is a great idea, and yes it would help fill the void of pain and ease it a fair bit.
Good luck to you, and I offer my admiration as well.

Oh I know how you feel about the 'ugly' dogs...
I think you have to be older than 15 to volunteer.
I was always gonna do it when I was younger but I ended up at a childrens animal farm.
Cleaning, feeding and exercising will be the obvious jobs.

Ask them - and if not them - see what you can do for local rescue groups!!

    Poor Dis. Hugs.

Minimum age should be 16, so you should be right.

Don't feel bad about the dogs seeming ugly, maybe your new best friend just hasn't turned up yet? I'm sure when you set eyes on him or her you'll know it - and he/she won't look ugly at all!

Well boy do I have news..

Went down the the shelter to help clean out cages and such..I'm now fostering a eye eyed, three legged little chihuahua! Poor little girl needs special care and I just had to help..I'm not going to keep her as my wounds over Terry are far too fresh but she seems to be doing okay. She was terribly abused and is very frightened of people, she cries something awful and when people try to pet her she wets herself. She has, however formed a very unusual friendship with my cat! They sleep in a yin-yang position together, she's very mothering to him. I must admit it is very touching.
