    Default Pedigree Dog Purchase Prices

Can ppl tell me what the price range is (from known minimum to maximum) which a person can be expected to pay these days for a registered puppy (or adult dog) of their breed of choice?

For example, for the past 15 years I have never found a GSD puppy under the $1200 mark.

My search Australia-wide recently re Newfoundlands resulted at a minimum price of $1800 up to a maximum of $2700 for a puppy.

Can others add facts regarding pricing for different breeds, please?

Can some of you also give me an idea on what is the average price a rescue puppy/dog costs around all the different states?

    Thanks.

All breeds sell for different prices, as I am sure you are aware. Pugs tend to be on the 'upper' side. Pugs sell for around the avergae of $1,000 in Sydeny and Vic and a little less in other states I believe.

So $1000 would be an average price for a Pug, Anne?

Yes Anne, well aware they sell for different prices, but as I have only had GSD's all my life, well I've never investigated the asking prices of other breeds.

Yes, I would think it was average for a papered pup.

Thanks Occy. Yep, $1500 is the most I've paid for a GSD too.

Thanks Anne. And for rescue dogs within the Sydney or NSW areas? What would be the average price, and what would that cover?

IE: worming, vaccination, de-sexing, micro-chipping, what else please?

All rescues charge different prices. I charge $300 with the odd exception. I would say the average for a rescue, regardless of it being papered or not, would be $300 though in Sydney.

I can only speak for shelter/rescue dogs, but the average seems to be $250 to $300 here in WA. RSPCA can range from $200 to $600 depending on the dog/pup.
ETA that generally includes vaccinations, vet check, worming, sometimes microchipping, and always desexing

That is very reasonable. Basically just covering some of the costs really?

I have checked with our local RSPCA when I was there to pick up our cat, and the price was around the $300 mark.
