Perhaps they mean you're cooking too much? More than you can eat?
But I don't see the problem, I give my dogs leftovers all the time!

WHO is telling you 'what a waste', Pugger?

If it is your family, tell them that in future then they can't leave the table till they've finished evereything on their plates. Lol.

My mum would often say such thing . You're wasting food on dogs. Which is silly, of course - I'd rather share it with my dog then throw in a bin.

When my grandmother comes over, once she sees me preparing food for the dogs, she insists on eating it all! Its a waste to give to the dogs.

Okay...that is seriously weird. Mind you, I've met a few ppl like that, usually an after-effect of surviving the war, though, which I can understand fully.

But, you don't LET your grandmother eat it, surely?

Sometimes she does seem like she lived through The Depression

Its not like its actually in their bowls! When she sees me go get them, thats when she starts finishing off everything.

No I don't think it's a waste - how is it better to go in the bin then go in the pups tummy?

Well Pugger maybe you need to pack off all your left overs and send it off to these people, and let them know that as they think it is a waste maybe they can make use of it!

Well you could say what you cook you planned to feed to the dogs in the first place. I cook mine a casserole out of ingredients that I could eat myself I suppose. Personally I like my food to have a little bit more flavour.

However of the food I make for myself, there is never any left overs cos I eat it all, and Frosty won't eat the zuccini when it's too rotten to cook either.

I've had to start measuring the pasta so I don't eat too much ie I used to plan to have some left for tomorrow but I started eating tomorrow's lunch in the first sitting I figured I'd just better not make that much. I do manage to make curry and have some left over, but not sure that's good for Frosty.

I did drop some chilli pasta surprise on the floor one time - no meat in it - and Frosty thought that was great. But I'd never deliberately feed it to her. Cos I'm too greedy. And people wonder why I don't want to quit playing hockey. Really - I get fat when I can't play.
