George- My family has always named our dogs human names (Ben, Gus, Oscar).

I loved the idea of George because it's such an unlikely dog name- people always think that I'm talking about my brother/uncle/gardener when I casually say things like "George slept outside last night" or "George has a serious drooling problem, I think I'm going to have to get him a giant bib made"- it always makes me laugh when I catch people off guard.

I was actually inspired by a friend who called her poodle 'Gary:' such an unlikely name which I thought was absolutely hilarious! She calls her dog at the park and it sounds like she's calling her accountant!

My dog Bella got that name because it means Beautiful in Italian, my wife is Italian, she picked the name, as both of us were quite excited to bring our new addition home, it was not until we pulled into the driveway and saw our cat sitting by the front door, our cat's name is Ella... *sigh* We kept the names as is.

In keeping with tradition we named our children in a similar fashion, Stella and Gabriella. *kidding*

Well for my friend-to-be, I have a little trouble commong up with suitable names, but I think "Dallas" will do. After my favourite musician, Dallas Toler-Wade (from Nile).

I wanted to call my dog Simon but it was decided on that unless he was going to brilliantly and efficiently fill out my tax return for me it probably wouldn't suit

In the meantime, he ended up with James and we still gets a lot of, "That's an unusual name for a dog!" comments.

As for how he stumbled upon his moniker, it was decided that everyone in the household had to agree to it. So we had several names that two of us loved, one didn't. James (and Bruce, but that was more a joke) was the only name with three votes although it was no one's favourite. I wanted Ted(dy).

    BOOF -
He gets the nicknames "Boofy", "Boofhead".
Named Boof because for a pup, his head was awfully big and he always had those dopey-like eyes! He fits the name very well

    MOLLIE -
She gets the nicknames "Mol-Mol", "Mol", "Mollie-Dolly" & "Dog-gu" (My 1yr old sissy cant pronounce Mollie, so has always called her 'dog-gu' no idea where it came from! LOL)
I think this actually stemmed back to a convo with one of my friends in primary - when she told everyone she was going to name her first child, if female, "Molly" & everyone playfully dissed her telling her it was a dog name.

I LOVE the name and it suits my little Mol-Mol very much

BRODY - Already named by my mother, she bought him as a show dog but when he didn't turn out he came to live with me.

PRADA - Her show name is "The Devil Wears Prada" so it made sense

CYRUS - Already named by his breeder and didn't want to step on her toes by renaming him (plus he had that name for 3 months of his life)... his sister's name is Miley

Hero - show name was Edgeof Visible Hero
Chiko - Already had his name. He has far too many issues to add changing his name to the list.
Sophie - She is a lovely little lady who looks great in blue. Her name brings blue to mind and suits a pretty poodle.
CC- Her show name is SaaKetu (Coper Commet) simply because as a pup she was
Tony - I have not come up with a show name for him yet but he is so full of himelf that it remined me of Tony from NCIS

Breeding, Showing, Training and general crazy making!!!

Roly- I was 10, he's black, white and spotty and I loved 101 Dalmatians

Lady- Mum named her after a dog she owned that looked exactly like her, minus a leg.
