You are not helping anyone at all. For all you know there may be some desperate family who are having a crap Christmas because someone decided they had more rights to their dog and refused to follow the law.

You have been told what you legally have to do.

i was not secretive about where the dog was found, not to the pounds anyway. i gave all relevant information. the pound, cat and dog home, whatever name i give to that institution has never told me about it being a law, that i must surrender the dog legally.

i am pleading my case, or actually, i am pleading the dog's case for him.

i am not saying they cannot advertise the dog on their site. i have supplied info and photos. i am not saying i will not give the dog up either. have you read my posts?

YOU are the only one so far to have told me it is law. now i'm just worried about being fined.

That's all you need to do. Plead your case. Play up the fact that he is underweight, nervous and skittish.

Depending on whcih pound though on what the response will be. Hence why I keep harping about where he was found. SCDH will not work with rescuers and your chance of them agreeing that you keep him with you under any DOC is zilch.

No, you stated clearly that the Pound instructed you to bring him to them. Quote:
They did not follow up on the one lost dog report they had. or if they did, they have not said so. easy thing to do wouldn't you think? just one simple phone call. but no. they are now saying i must take the dog to them, so they can advertise him on their website, and in 7 days i may pay them $350 and have him back.

They instructed you to do this because that is the law.

As for being worried about being fined, if you don't break the law you won't be.

Zen, Roly used to go 'missing' a lot.
I would always go looking for him. I would be so heartbroken if someone decided to keep him. You have done the right thing.
