Default Okay Guys, Dog or Bitch?

    Who prefers what?

Some ppl have no preference and don't find any difference whatsoever between owing a dog or a bitch; yet others do notice perceived differences.

Reason I'm asking, it has turned out that I have ended up getting a choice regarding the Newfoundland litter after all. Other Victorian buyers have kindly stated that they are not fussed either way, so I', not the last on the list anymore, in that way, if that makes any sense?

Hmmm, not sure. I do seem to have a preference for dogs over bitches, yet when I think about it my one and only TRUE HEART DOG was a bitch.
Not that that probably means anything in the great scheme of things! LOL.

In my case there was no real reason for deciding on a male. It was just that everytime I pictured our pup I could just see it being a 'he' so I went with it

Doesn't matter, I understand what you mean.

I've always found dogs to be total boofheads and absolute Mummy's boys, yet in hindsight it has been a bloody long time since I had a bitch, and have found bitches to be sooo loyal it's not funny. I guess it's different dogs, different breeds, environments etc etc that make the difference.

Just really interested to see why ppl bought dogs, and why they bought bitches?

I used to prefer males but after owning bitch's for the 3 years I have changed my preferance . And you are right with the loyalty , I've found all my bitches to be extremely loyal and also they tend to have a favourite human. They love the whole family dont get me wrong, but usually you end up the favourite.

    Know what you mean, Choppa.
Growing up my father always used to tell me 'there's no dog like a de-sexed bitch for loyalty to the death.' Mind you that was his job and yes, the dogs were expected to literally put their lives on the line day in, night out. That was also at a time when bitches were not really an acceptable sex for his line of work - it was usually always dogs.

Whenever I have had both sexes together, I must say that if an unwanted visitor found their way onto my properties, the dogs would go right off certainly, and were a force to be reckoned with, but it was always the bitches that would NEVER back down.

    That's been my experience, anyway.

1 female, 1 male except 2 different breeds.
So its hard too tell. Lady is a lot more willing to please, but I think thats a breed thing.
Honestly, I don't think there really is a difference. I mean, male and female humans, not all males are the same, not all females are the same and add different breeds... I've never met two dogs/bitches the same.
