    Default Bonding

Rufus seems to have bonded with Einstein quite closely. He chases Einstein and Einstein will run up to him and between his legs

Today Doof was fleabiting Einstein and Einstein was attacking his feet and tail

This is GOOD because I really wanted a second cat as a companion for Rufus - but how close can the relationship be?

I mean - atm Rufus grooms all of the kittens - he would groom grace if she didn't try to kill him but he only flea bites Einstein.

Only Elmo and Grover really tell Doof off at all - Einstein and Cookie think he is ace

Will upload some pics another time - Cats are busy attacking the scratch pole and cat grass atm

I put a downpayment on a chicken coop and run today - it's massive and will make a fantastic day yard for the cats. I'm going to set it up in the backyard of the new place so that the cats can be outside for a few hrs a day

Also go a canvas kennel for Doof so he can be out during the day

I want to be able to have friends over and for the house not to be a sty!!

Birds will live outside under cover - there is a bird aviary down the back of the yard BUT it's for pigeons and being down the back of the yard I don't know how often I would get down there

Im getting new furniture so why on earth shouldn't the beasties?

Ok well - when I had two dogs together their bond was obvious - one was leader - the other follower or they were steadfast companions

Cappy followed Sandy because she had been there since he came to live with us. Billie and Flash were companions - so much so that one died a week after the other and IMO she gave up when he went.

I don't necessarily think these bonds are bad things but I am wondering if a dog and cat that have met when the dog is an adult and the cat is a kitten - can bond that closely. I get the feeling they will - I am not concerned at all.

When pup comes some time in the future it will be interesting

i will get some pics up soon - just pure laziness on my part atm lol

Well I think Rufus and Einstein may end up bonding closely, especially for a dog/cat combination. Will be interesting to see what happens when puppy arrives, but I think it's great if they bond. Far better than the other way around, anyway.
