    Default One Lucky Jack Russel

Had a interesting morning walk today....
Scoobs and i took a differant route to usual, and as we were walking around the edge of the park, i saw 2 dogs running along, i hunted to see if there was an owner around, but nothing, i thought great here we go.
As soon as they saw us, they came bolting over, a older jack russel and a larger cross, the jack was obviously the leader as the cross just followed what he was doing. As they came up to us, Scoobs was just standing still, the JRT a metre away growling, next second, the bloody thing launched at scoobs and as he was on llead i pulled him back, but the JRT kept going for him so i let him have more lead, Scoobs has grabbed the dog around the torso and was starting to shake him and when it started yelping the larger dog started going Scoobs as well, i stepped in and booted the larger dog while giving a yell, and as i did Scoobs let go of the JRT who took off at a million miles and hour, with his mate closley behind.
I Quickly check Scoobs out as y heart was racing and luckily he onlyhad a couple of scratches on his throat from the JRT..... I think the JRT will be a tad sorer thou. Where we were walking there is known Dingo packs around, so next time they might not be so lucky.
The thing thats ****s me thou, is i have seen these 2 a couple of times, miles from where we were, playing chicken in the traffic.
Will be ringing the council this morn to report, but i reckon they will be back out on the streets soon, you'de think the owners would take measures to keep them contained, but unfortunatley i cant see it happening

You have a pitbull right? Trust me...I love Pits...they are gorgeous!

My concern is that if you do not contact the council yourself and someone saw your darling Scoobs "have a go at the JRT"...they might come after you just because yours is a Pit It is sad that we have to think this way when it clearly wasn't your dog's fault, but you don't know if any other people saw it and just don't like Pitbulls for whatever reason.

Jeez Anomad, that would freaked me right out. Stupid owner, whoever they are.
Why oh why do these imbecilic idiots have dogs???

This sort of thing what has happened to you and Scooby just infuriates the hell out of me.

Had it happen once a very very long time ago. The other dog in question was a small Maltese/shihtzu cross. The mongrel came at my father's dog which was a GSD. I'm thinking this little mutt thoguht it was bigger than it was, stupid thing. Heidi, who was on lead took one chomp. regardless of whether Heidi was on lead and the other dog wasn't, Heidi was eauthanised by court order. It was a VERY bad time in our life.

I'm glad you rang the council. I hope you put in an official complaint as well?

I hope they darned well follow it up. Don't know where you are, if the town is big or small etc, but also hope you got the officer's name or a complaintant's receipt number? Seen the call be recorded and go by the wayside around here. Grrrr.

ARGGGG *sigh*.... and when they are bitten/killed (Matter of time really) it will be balmmed on 'yet another pit bull' regardless of weather it was a dingo, a german sherpard, a pit bull or a kelpie, a could go on all day.....

Head down without Scoobs Ano and take a couple of ropes with you, if you can find them and catch them hand them into your local pound. Alot may disagree with me, but they are better off at the pound than being able to roam around the streets and being killed by a car/bus or harrassing other animals (Which could also end in a very nasty death)
