    Hey guys,

    My poor baby .....

Me and my OH having been talking about getting another pit bull. I have been researching non stop on the net and am having a lot of trouble finding pit bull rescues in Oz (SA).

    Any suggestions?

Im only researching at the moment and it will be quite a while before I get another boy........

    Poor Tyson.
    Sorry to hear that Judge....

Not sure about Pit rescues, I'm sure Choppa will know.
I do know that they come up on Petrescue.com.au, and I've seen Amstaffs/Pits and Crosses on Staffy rescue websites.

thanks mags I had a look and there are just so many (of coarse!)

I think i might have to wait for my net to come back on at home so me and my OH can look together.

So many look like Tyson (I need those tissues again!)

I am so sorry it may be coming to "that time" for Tyson. The last gift of love that we can do for them when we know it is time.

The vet wants me to wait until he does some more tests!

However Tyson has started having seizures at night and I called the vet to tell him and he says that even if we diagnose the problem they may not be able to stop the seizures!

Do I let my boy become a pin cushion if the result is likely to be the same anyway???
I don't know if I can continue watching my man in pain???

    Whats right and whats wrong?????

    My story.
My beloved old dog, I waited too long. I regret that every day. My mother was told this and she had her believed terrier PTS when she felt it was time for him. My advice to her when you start thinking is it time, then it probably is. Only you can judge that, the quality of life, would test results possibly alleviate conditions or whether it is time to love enough to say goodbye and be there with them. Og god I wish I had not been so selfishly hanging on to hope for Blacky in 2002. Hindsight, I should have done it months earlier.

    I dont know!

I took him to the vet about a month ago because I couldnt keep the weight on him and had already changed him from mature food back to adult (more crude fat) The vet told me to put him back on puppy food again to put the weight back on.

During the vet visit we also discussed the possibility of cancer considering his weight loss, age etc. The vet advised me to wait until I put some more weight on and then start thinking about blood tests.

It was about 2 weeks ago that he started having the seizures (he falls on his size and starts shaking, no foaming at the mouth etc) and I have since taken him back for his bloods to be taken.

Waiting for his blood results to come back but the vet has stated that since the seizures have started he wants to do more tests.

No one can tell you whats right here darls. If there is no real "reason" for the symptoms he's displaying, and the vet cant be sure that the tests etc will give him a prolonged QUALITY of life, then maybe it is his time.

I don't envy you, and am thinking of you guys.

    Oh poor old man
Only you will know when he his fight is well and truley over.I dont envy anyone in this position at all...
But try to keep his quality of life foremost in your thoughts. It s os so very easy to let them linger because our heart wont let them go
